I frequently make direct molds from natural and pre-existing objects. I use this method, as opposed to modeling objects by hand, because it allows me to make
work that identifies with a specific time and/or place, as well as the history associated with the object. Thus, it becomes a marker of my life and journeys as well
as an investigation of the power and meaning inherent in objects.
Having recently relocated to Dundee, through daily ersatz conversations with my 150 year-old barn now turned studio, I've cast these intimately sized bronzes that are whimsical, reflective, and target our collective nostalgia.
